“Dia de los Muertos” An exquisitely engraved Colt 1911 in .38 Super. Once a year I manage to make a “special” project gun. I try and make something very unique , exploring new processes more as a challenge than anything else. This project started as a brand new Colt. The frame and slide were welded for the tightest fit, then a Kart barrel with an EGW bushing was fit for the best accuracy. All the internals are hand fit. The pistol was shipped toMaster Engraver Melissa McMinn for a nearly 100 hours of engraving with the “Day of the Dead” theme, in honor of departed relatives. The engraving features original artwork by Melissa with lots of fine engraving and inlay work. The grips are ten thousand year old mammoth ivory The pistol is encased with two matching magazines in a custom Spanish mahogany box lined with silver gray velvet. Price on Request
